Biografía
The Skartats som una jove banda (tots els components entre els 18-19 anys) que fem música jamaicana en totes les seues modalitats (Ska,Rocksteady,Reggae) i en tots els seus derivats (Ska-Jazz, Early Reggae, Roots Reggae, Skinhead Reggae...), però per a la qual cosa encara ens queda molt de camí per davant, així és que de moment ens centrem en dominar les tres principals modalitats abans esmentades, doncs The Skartats funciona desde finals de l’estiu del 2006 quan per fí i després d’uns quants mesos de búsqueda de musics per part de Xavi i Nahuel va quedar composada aquesta gran familia.
Començàrem fent una versió del mític tema dels The Specials, “Rudy, a message to you”, posteriorment començarem a crear temes propis alguns instrumentals, altres en valencià i altres en anglés, a més d’altres versions.
Una de les peculiaritats de la banda és que desde l’inici apostem per fer autèntica música jamaicana i especialment apostem per la fòrmula “Ska,Rocksteady,Reggae” molt poc popular al País Valencià, on la majoria de bandes que diuen fer ska començen fent punk i a partir d’ahí van evolucionant, uns més altres menys...
Em compratit escenari amb grups com Obrint Pas,Ki Sap,Pirats Sound Sistem o Red Soul Community.
